2017 New York City Culinary Experience

Posted by Marcy Stumpf | August 29, 2017

As summer comes to a close, we once again proudly sponsored our annual Culinary Experience trip here in New York City. Every year, we partner with the Epicurean Charitable Foundation (ECF) and the Careers through Culinary Arts Program (C-CAP) to host a scholarship recipient and their mentor from each foundation on a 3-day culinary experience tour of New York City, geared to highlight the many facets of the hospitality world and immerse the young students in every aspect.

This year’s lucky recipients were Jasmine Ramos, a hardworking, bright sophomore at UNLV, and Krista Alpuerto, an eager, motivated graduate of Le Cordon Bleu. Jasmine’s mentor is Sean DiCicco, VP of Food at Caesars Entertainment and President of ECF, and joining us from Los Angeles, Krista is mentored by Chef Jared Levy, Executive Chef at Eveleigh.

While our guests enjoyed a variety of delicious meals across the city, they also had the opportunity to tour front & back of the house, kitchen & other operations, along with having interactive encounters with the many passionate people it takes to run a restaurant. Additionally, our visitors learned about Avero’s innovative management tools and interacted with our employees during their office visit with us.

We had beautiful weather and an incredible experience at every restaurant, but don’t just take our word for it, check out the highlights below.
